The design brief for this project was a coastal-inspired barn-style house to suit a young family of 5 now and into the future, with a granny flat for grandparents to live independently.

The initial challenge was arranging the floor layout to have enough living space for the main family house and provide the granny flat with separate access and outdoor area but we were able to achieve a functional layout for both.

The space planning and interiors of this coastal barn-style house harmonise with the exterior materials, emphasizing family living around the pool. Open layouts seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor spaces, while natural materials echo the exterior's aesthetic. Warm timber accents and stone finishes create a cohesive atmosphere, with ample windows framing pool views and inviting natural light. This design ensures the effortless integration of family life with outdoor leisure, fostering a tranquil retreat for relaxation and bonding.
